Meet Ali!

Ali Mims is Miss Hoover 2026 and was previously crowned Miss Alabama’s Teen 2024. She represented Alabama at Miss America’s Teen in Orlando, where she earned a Preliminary Evening Gown Award and placed First Runner-Up nationally. Ali is a freshman at Samford University, attending on a full-tuition scholarship awarded through her Miss Alabama’s Teen title. She is pursuing a double major in Broadcast Journalism and Business and Nonprofit Management, with a minor in Vocal Performance.

At just 14 years old, Ali founded The Joyful Noise Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to providing music education, music therapy, and instruments for students with special needs. Inspired by Psalm 100:1, “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord,” her initiative has generated more than 5.2 million social media impressions and raised over $100,000 to date. Through Joyful Noise, Ali has distributed instrument grant boxes in many Shelby County Schools, including a large instrument grant to Linda Nolen Learning Center. She was able to give an instrument grant box to every special needs and music classroom in Hoover City Schools, as well as schools across Alabama, other states, and internationally in Nicaragua. She is also the author of two books and a coloring book focused on special needs learning, has written an original song titled Make a Joyful Noise performed by choirs and groups, and developed the Joyful Noise app available on Google Play, offering music games and therapeutic sounds. Ali’s mission is to ensure every student in the special needs community has access to music education and music therapy.

In addition to her philanthropic work, Ali is an active member of Zeta Tau Alpha at Samford University, serving on the Panhellenic Council and holding leadership roles including philanthropy committee member, events liaison, music chairman, and recruitment committee member. She also models for several regional and national brands. In her free time, Ali enjoys going to the gym, spending time with friends, and recharging.

Photos from 2nd annual Joyful Noise Talent Show with celebrity guest judge, Cheryl Porter! We raised over $9,000 for the Joyful Noise Foundation!
Check out this fun recap from 280 Living

I was so excited to host the first annual Joyful Noise Talent Show! There were 40 amazing elementary students who showed off their talents. Singers, dancers, comedians, Tae Kwon Do acts, hula hoopers, violinists and more made for an unbelievable show! I was able to raise thousands of dollars to purchase instruments for special needs classes and patients at Children’s Harbor! I could not be more proud of these students for being so brave and being a part of such a great cause. Thank you to my amazing Outstanding Teen sisters for judging the acts and being part of my fundraiser. What a blessing it is to call you friends and to serve together! Thank you to every student and parent who made this possible! I cannot wait until next year. Let’s continue to make a Joyful Noise!!

Ali was very honored to be recognized by Alabama's Governor,
Key Ivey, for her work with Joyful Noise on February 2, 2023

Ali was so honored to receive a Proclamation from the City of Tuscaloosa. The Mayor and City Council recognized her work with Joyful Noise and the special needs community and presented her with the Proclamation and very kind words!
It’s not every day you get a letter in the mail from Coach Nick and Terry Saban! I feel so honored that the Sabans  purchased my books to give to the students at The University Of Alabama Child Development Resource Center. I love that Mrs. Terry will be using my book to read to the precious students  for Read Across America week! How awesome is that?! What an amazing honor! Thank you so much Saban family and Nick’s Kids Foundation for purchasing my books and sharing them with the precious students at the Rise Center!! What an awesome organization to be a part of! This deserves a big Roll Tide!
